DEFRA completed a consultation on the Waste Prevention Programme for England, a comprehensive strategy aimed at reducing waste generation, promoting sustainable resource management, and minimising environmental impact. This initiative was developed through an extensive consultation process involving stakeholders, businesses, local authorities, and the public. The consultations provided valuable insights, data, and perspectives, enabling the formulation of a well-informed and effective waste prevention plan. SOENECS, played a key role in the analysis of consultation results, contributing our expertise in environmental research and policy analysis. 

The DEFRA Waste Prevention Programme encompasses diverse aspects, including reducing single-use plastics, promoting circular economy practices, enhancing product design for longevity and recyclability, and encouraging sustainable consumer behaviour. By incorporating input from various stakeholders, the programme strives to create a more sustainable and resource-efficient future for England, aligning with national and global waste reduction goals.
